TELEHEALTH NOTICE
All Be4Au care is delivered by secure video telehealth.
What to expect
Sessions happen over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You will need a private, quiet place, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Audio-only sessions may be available in limited cases and depend on your state's rules; ask before your session.
Where you must be
Malanna Simmons is licensed in Pennsylvania (LCSW), Texas (LCSW), New Jersey (LCSW) and Michigan (LMSW). You must be physically located in one of these states at the time of every session. We will ask you to confirm your location at each session. If you will be traveling outside these states, tell us in advance so we can reschedule.
Benefits and risks
Telehealth can make care easier to reach and fit into your life. It also has limits: technology can fail, a video session may not feel the same as in person, and privacy depends partly on your setting. We will use a backup plan, such as a phone call, if the video drops. Telehealth is not a fit for every situation, and we may recommend in-person care if it would serve you better.
Your part
Be in a private place. Do not record sessions. Do not allow others to listen without telling us first and agreeing. Keep your device and passwords secure.
Emergencies
Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911. At the start of care, we will ask for your current physical address and a local emergency contact. If we believe you are in immediate danger, we may contact emergency services at your location.
Texas clients
Texas law requires that you receive information about telehealth, and that you may choose to stop telehealth and seek in-person care at any time. You will receive the form to give your informed consent before your first session.
Consent
By booking, you agree to receive care by telehealth under this notice. A written consent form is signed at onboarding.
